Does the orginal xbox wireless adapter work with a windows vista computer?

I have an Xbox 360 that I want to connect to Xbox Live. My computer is in another room as my xbox so I'm forced to use a wireless connection. I was told that the original Xbox adapter works with the Xbox 360, but wondered if the configuration concerned would work with a Windows Vista powered computer.

Yes.

Once the setup to work with the SSID of your wireless router and security settings option, any device with a working port Ethernet / network card works. As long as your PC running Vista has an Ethernet connection, you can connect your (original) Xbox Wireless Adapter and it connects to your wireless router.

I put the xbox 360 wireless adapter on my birthday list and my grandma got it for me, the only problem was she got the xbox wireless adapter. Not the xbox 360. Will the regular xbox adapter work with the 360?

Yep, dude. It works great, actually. I ended up buying the original Xbox adapter, because it was only $50.00.

Edit: Oh, and you don't need to use the installation disc, for using it on a 360.

Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter: Dated, save your money though ...

As reported from VG247 , the new device will be available to buy in shops on November 3rd. It’s thought to include 2 antennas on either side this time, presumably to boost connection speeds.

$99 though? We expected this to be significantly cheaper for Xbox 360 owners, I mean where is the incentive to pick one of these up now?

Lets hope that some retailers use a bit of common sense and knock the price down a bit upon release. Let us know your thoughts on the $100 price tag.
