Why does my Xbox 360 say its connected to a network when the wireless adapter is red?

So I took my xbox to a party, returned and plugged back today to play on Xbox Live with my friends. My live work when I left the other day, but when I put up all back, the light on my wireless network card red. Then I went to test the network and it can not connect. But on the wireless setup, it says it is connected. I tried entering my network key, which does not work.

Can I use a usb "plug-in" wireless adapter to connect an external hard drive to my network?

I need to add storage for the computers on my home wireless network. I have looked at both wireless and usb / firewire equipped external hard drives. I have seen usb plug-in wireless network adapters for computers without an internal wireless card. Could I just buy a usb equipped hard drive (or build one) and add a wireless adapter to connect it to my network for filesharing?

No. You would have 2 devices but no host. A device needs to connect to a host (usually a computer) to allow it to function.

Low-cost LAN appliance has six gigabit ports, two drive bays

According to Axiomtek, the NA-320R (above) is suitable for VPN, firewall, unified threat management, bandwidth control and network management applications. The device has six gigabit Ethernet ports, using Intel 82583V controllers or, optionally, Intel 82574 controllers, the company says. LAN bypass capabilities are also cited, though without word on how many of the ports this applies to.

Equipped with Intel's ICH8M I/O controller, the NA-320R is expandable to 2GB of DDR2 memory. Fixed storage can be provided by one or two 2.5-inch hard disk drives, a single 3.5-inch hard disk drive, or a CompactFlash Type II slot.

A previously released desktop equivalent of this product, the NA-320 had a front panel bearing only LEDs (monitoring power, hard disk status, link activity with transfer rate, and LAN bypass), everything else being on the back. With the NA-320R, almost everything's up front: the LEDs, the six gigabit Ethernet ports already mentioned, two USB 2.0 ports, and a serial port with RJ45 connector. (Axiomtek notes that BIOS output is redirected to the latter, easing setup via a serially connected screen.)

Setting up a Wireless Network for a Computer Lease Store

Brought to you by inexpensive remanufactured Hewlett-Packard notebook computers .

Because of its convenience and flexibility, more and more Computer Lease owners are using wireless network for their Shop. Unlike the traditional wired cables, the wireless network is now being used for Internet access and connectivity to other units in the shop. Aside from Internet access, Business owners can also use wireless network to share printers, files, and a other gadgets or pieces of equipment.

Contrary to what others think, it is easy to install a wireless network especially for a Personal Computer Loan Shop. Here are some steps that can greatly help you in installing a new one:

1. Choose wireless equipment well. In creating a wireless network, all you need to do is to choose your wireless equipment, connect your wireless router, configure your wireless router, and connect your PCs. For starters that will be using Windows XP, a Windows XP Service Pack 2 is not really required for wireless networking. Though it’s not a necessity, having the service pack will make things much easier because it will protect your network against viruses, worms, hackers, and other Internet intruders.

2. Find time in buying your wireless equipment. You can do this by researching and looking for the equipment that you really need. While surfing the net for several products in stores or on the Internet, you will have the freedom to choose the equipment that will support three different wireless networking technologies such as 802.11a, 802.11b, and 802.11g. Experts say that 802.11g is highly-recommended because it offers excellent performance and is truly compatible with almost anything and everything.

3. Look for a reliable wireless network adapter. This is very important in setting up a wireless network because it will help the wireless router to work at its best. If you are going to buy an adapter for a desktop Personal Computer, might as well buy a USB wireless network adapter. And if you have a laptop, it is advisable to buy a PC card-based network adapter. Above all else, it is a must to make sure that you have an adapter for every Computer included on your network. To have an easy setup, try to choose a network adapter made by the same vendor who created your wireless router.
