Does the orginal xbox wireless adapter work with a windows vista computer?

I have an Xbox 360 that I want to connect to Xbox Live. My computer is in another room as my xbox so I'm forced to use a wireless connection. I was told that the original Xbox adapter works with the Xbox 360, but wondered if the configuration concerned would work with a Windows Vista powered computer.

Yes.

Once the setup to work with the SSID of your wireless router and security settings option, any device with a working port Ethernet / network card works. As long as your PC running Vista has an Ethernet connection, you can connect your (original) Xbox Wireless Adapter and it connects to your wireless router.

Will my router work with a wireless xbox 360 adapter?

I have a Netgear rangemax dual band wireless-N router (WNDR3300). I know that the xbox wireless adapters do not work with N routers but I think this router is able to connect with G. I don't really wanna go blow $100 to find out the adapter won't work. Thanks.

I have a wireless N router and my 360 adapter works fine for it. I'm almost 100% positive that all wireless N routers are backwards compatible a/b/g, so just go through the setup process in the 360 settings and you will be able to play online! hope that helps.
