How should I configure my linksys usb wireless adapter to connect to a belkin router?

Hi!
I try to connect my Linksys Wireless USB Adapter (WUSB54G SpeedBooster model) to my Belkin router. It connects but tends to disconnect quickly enough once I start surfing the net or download. I think the settings on my Linksys may be different from my router. How do I configure my Linksys adapter (fragmentation threshold, channel, etc.) to match the default settings on a Belkin router? Any suggestions on how to maintain the link? Thank you!

PS: Does anyone know the default settings for a Belkin router?
Thank you for the info but to clarify that I want to know what settings I need to match between the adapter and the router, either - fragmentation threshold, channel, ect. or if there is another reason why it would disconnect. I-do-security center windows have reduced mobility. Could it be?

On the router there is a reset button on the router, hold it for about 30 seconds still connected to the reset to factory settings.


As for the wireless card, once the router is reset it should just connect automatically unless the router is security enabled by default.

Can I connect to xbox live with a LInksys wireless usb adapter (WUSB54GC) adapter plugged into the console?

I have a wireless linksys usb adapter that allows my computer to connect to the internet. If I plug this device into the back of my xbox 360 console, will it allow me to connect to xbox live?

no it will not work. microsoft removed the drivers for all of the usb receivers other than the xbox 360 receiver.

Both of the situations ring true for me. My laptop doesn't support 802.11n and it doesn't work very well if it is more than 50 feet from a router. I also have a desktop computer that isn't near an Ethernet port. It also could be handy if you have a guest in your office (or your home) who needs to connect to your wireless network. One of my friends always keeps a USB wireless adapter handy for guests in his home.
