Bluetooth keyboards are in the no-fly zone

It turns out that on most airlines, using Bluetooth gadgets such as the wireless keyboards gaining popularity with travelers is no more legal than, well, trying to storm the cockpit. (At least in the sense that both are not allowed.)
Bluetooth wireless signals -- essentially the same as short-wave radio -- are prohibited during flights as a wireless frequency that the airlines and the FCC say could interfere with the aircraft's electronics.
A sampling of the major U.S. airline policies found bans on Bluetooth in flight on American, United, Continental, Delta, Alaska, Virgin America, Horizon and JetBlue . (While representative, this sampling should not be considered comprehensive for the industry.)
This has not stopped companies that make Bluetooth computer accessories from marketing them to people just about to get on a plane. At SFO's new T2 terminal last week, I noticed a shop near one of the gates with several models of wireless
