I just bought a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse combo and I have 2 questions?
Apr 06, 2009 by johnedwards2006 | Posted in Other - Hardware
1.) I know the battery in the keyboard last longer than the mouse because it uses the batter only when I am typing. How long does the battery last for the mouse if I use it 5-7 hours per day? 2.)
Does the battery life of the keyboard/mouse decrease if the receiver is further away or should I keep it closer to the keyboard/mouse?

Build a 3D home-theatre PC
16.05.11
Today's PCs come in various designs and sizes. But as living rooms become more theatrelike, with multichannel speaker systems and high-definition TVs, the thought of plugging a boxy PC into an entertainment centre seems unappealing.
Enter the home-theatre PC, which is specially built and designed to look like it belongs in the same rack as a multichannel receiver, a satellite or cable set-top box, and other devices. It can be the repository for your entire digital media library; you can view your home video and photos on the big screen and hear digital music on high-quality speakers, or share everything with other computers over your home network. A home-theatre PC also lets you play 3D Blu-ray movies (as well as standard Blu-ray and DVD movies).

The good: "Incurve" key design and cushioned palm rest alleviate wrist irritation; impressive battery life claims (three years for keyboard, one for mouse); Hyper-fast scroll dial offers incremental fluidity; inexpensive.
The bad: Doesn't use Logitech's new Unifying USB receiver or Darkfield laser sensor; Hyper-fast scroll dial inconveniently located underneath the mouse; lefties can't use the sculpted mouse; simple LCD screen adds unnecessary bulk to the keyboard design.
The bottom line: Although it's not our favorite keyboard and mouse combination, the Logitech Wireless Desktop MK700 set earns our recommendation for its comfortable "Incurve" key design, quick scrolling mouse, and impressive battery life. If you're looking to upgrade your input devices and are on a budget, this $100 combination deserves your attention.

Logitech offers a huge selection of keyboards and mice that each cater to a different consumer, but its Wireless Desktop MK700 is meant for the everyday user that just needs a comfortable combo that won't break the bank. We're disappointed that it doesn't use Logitech's newest input device technologies, but that doesn't take away from its other useful features including: ergonomically shaped keys, superlong battery life, and the capability to adjust the sensitivity of the scroll dial. Check out Logitech's $130 Cordless Desktop Wave Pro if money isn't an issue, but the average user on a $100 budget will be perfectly happy with the Wireless Desktop MK700.
