Is my nintendo ds able to connect to nintendo wifi on a mac without the nintendo wifi usb adapter?

I tried to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi on Pokemon Pearl with a mac, but when I scan an access point it says unable to find the IP address. and when I try to type the IP address, gateway, DNS servers primary and secondary, and subnet mask manually I can not find the DNS servers. Please help.

Would you say you try to connect with your wireless router or just wirelessly to your Mac?
I have no problems connecting wirelessly on my DS without using USB adapter, but I do not have a Mac.
You should not need a USB adapter at all, I guess it's a problem with the DS and not mac.
I would like to ask a Mac forum or in the MAC area of responses that I try to be something strange causing apple.

i want to use the DS/Wii Wifi USB Adapter but i have a mac what can i do to use it?

Here is exactly what you are looking for. It is a general guide about the Nintendo USB Wifi Adapter, but there is a section about making it work for other operating systems.

You are looking for Section 4.3 "Configuring a Software AP in Mac OS." However, you may want to read all of it to be more familiar with what to do.

With iOS 5, iTunes Will Treat Every Electrical Socket In Your House Like A USB ...

Steve Jobs has gone on record in the past saying he wanted to bring WiFi Sync to iTunes, but that they hadn’t found an implementation they liked yet. Given the fact that there’s Cydia apps that do WiFi Sync already, it’s clear that the problem wasn’t so much transferring data over WiFi: Apple just didn’t really know what to do about the other prime function of tethering your iPhone to iTunes: charging.

The way iTunes WiFi Sync will work come iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5 is an elegant solution to the dual problems of sync and charge. Every time you plug in your iOS device to a charger on your home network, it opens a WiFi connection to iTunes and starts a sync.

In essence, sync has finally been decoupled from charging. It’s a decoupling that is past due: with the iPad, Apple finally released an iOS device that couldn’t easily be charged on most USB ports, due to the 10 watt USB requirement for charging. Most of us are already charging our iPads primarily through a wall connection, syncing through iTunes only when we have to.

'Wi-Fi Direct' to Simplify Peer-to-Peer Wireless Networking - Mac ...

The Wi-Fi Alliance, a consortium of companies that includes Apple, yesterday announced that it has developed a new specification that will facilitate direct peer-to-peer connections via Wi-Fi between devices without the need for an intervening base station. The specification, to be made available on new products and via software updates to existing products beginning in mid-2010, would compete with Bluetooth and allow for significantly faster data transfer speeds, although at a cost of increased power consumption.

The specification, previously code-named "Wi-Fi peer-to-peer," can be implemented in any Wi-Fi device, from mobile phones, cameras, printers, and notebook computers, to human interface devices such as keyboards and headphones. Significantly, devices that have been certified to the new specification will also be able to create connections with hundreds of millions of Wi-Fi CERTIFIED legacy devices already in use. Devices will be able to make a one-to-one connection, or a group of several devices can connect simultaneously. "Wi-Fi Direct represents a leap forward for our industry. Wi-Fi users worldwide will benefit from a single-technology solution to transfer content and share applications quickly and easily among devices, even when a Wi-Fi access point isn't available," said Wi-Fi Alliance executive director Edgar Figueroa. "The impact is that Wi-Fi will become even more pervasive and useful for consumers and across the enterprise."

While some Wi-Fi devices are already able to support ad hoc wireless networks, the practice is limited in security and other features and is not officially part of the certified Wi-Fi standards. Wi-Fi Direct will include all of the features of standard Wi-Fi networks without the need to connect via a wireless base station.
