Do you know if a mini sd wifi card will work on the sidekick 3?

I know that the sidekick 3 does not have wifi, but my school is completely wireless and internet with the board is not very reliable with the reception on the campus of Sacramento State. Everywhere else is fine, but on campus, it therefore lacks internet is crap. As a Mini SD slot and mini SD wifi card is sold, I wonder if there is a way to install the driver and run-Fi.

Sorry, the material on the Sidekick 3 does not support WiFi. The drivers do not work with the Sidekick software. You can call T-Mobile and confirm this if you wish.

How does Wifi Mini sd card work?

Im buying the mini sd wifi card for my htc touch i was wondering how does it work? when i insert it what do i have to do? Will it work with my htc touch? will i be able to watch youtube?

Mini SD wi-fi cards work similar to wi-fi network cards for laptops. For all practical purposes, they are wireless network cards but for mobile phones. The HTC Touch isn't compatible with Mini SD cards. It uses Micro SD cards. The SDIO wi-fi cards you're talking about are compatible with devices like the Motorola Q and the Palm Treo 700w, among others. For Youtube videos, I recommend installing a program called VTap. It's like Google specifically for online videos. I used it and loved it. I don't have it on my T-Mobile Wing now because I lost it when I did a hard reset the other day but I'm about to reinstall it. Look into that program. As for wi-fi for your Touch, I'm sorry to tell you this but you're out of luck. Sucks that HTC didn't built a wi-fi reciever into the Touch since they build them into almost all their other phones like the Wing, Tilt and MDA, to name a few. Hope I've helped.

Toshiba Thrive Undercuts iPad 2 & Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

All eyes are currently on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 as it gears up to take on the reigning tablet on the market, the iPad 2. Samsung has already cleverly priced its Galaxy Tab 10.1 16GB model at $499, the same as the 16GB WiFi-only iPad 2. It also brags itself as being the thinnest tablet on the planet, taking away from the sleeker body the iPad 2 introduced over its predecessor.

Toshiba Thrive Undercuts iPad 2 & Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

However with the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 at Google I/O just a couple weeks ago, the limelight was stolen from Toshiba who had a mysterious Honeycomb tablet in the works. Toshiba had been poking fun at the iPad over the past few months in order to build up hype behind its upcoming unnamed tablet and now it looks ready. According to eWeek, "the company's Thrive tablet, long expected but largely a mystery device, will debut July 10 with a tiered-pricing structure, starting at $429."

Now that comes in at $70 less than the iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. For that price, you get a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800) tablet runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb, packs a front-facing 2.1-megapixel camera and 5-megapixel rear shooter for photos and video, HDMI out port, USB, USB mini, SD card slot for further expansion, Tegra 2 dual core processor and a interchangeable back cover so you can swap color. Of course, the $429 price tag applies to the 8GB model, followed by 16GB ($479) and 32GB ($579) models.

App Review: On Air (wifi Disk) | AndroidGuys

Android devices operate almost exactly like computers and obviously runs independent of one. You don’t need to sync your Android with a cable to get your emails, contacts, calendar entries as it can be done through the air.  The same goes with applications or podcasts.  There are, however, some cases where you do need to connect a USB cable and mount your Android phone.  The first example that comes to mind is copying music. Would it be nice to be able to access the SD card without having to use a USB cable?

On Air lets you do that. A word of warning though, this application is for the few Apple Mac owners who also enjoy an Android phone.  On Air works by using the AppleTalk protocol, though it could be used through WebDAV under Linux and Windows.  I just haven’t tested that myself.

On Air (available for free on the Market) is very simple to use.  Open the app and click Power.  The handset will display the IP address of your phone and a 4 digit password (randomly and new each time).  You will then see a new computer on your network called “OnAirDisk”.  Open it to access the “OnAirData.”  You will then need to login with the username and the password displayed in the app.

AFile does this beautifully with my PC – AFile used to be called discovery and was written by Mac software makers in the first place. Learned this through my research to fix a glitch a while back. Its a mobile copy of a program they wrote with iDisk for Mac. It was a little glitchy with XP using the web interface but i got the file server to work (it has great instructions in the help section) and i haven't got the file server way to work with Vista but the web interface works fine. **if i recall its still a free app too!
