how to connect 3 laptop wifi enabled ,usb printer and linksys wifi router.?
I need to connect 3 laptop wifi enabled,1 usb printer and linksys wifi router.
i have purchased an adapter which converts usb to cat5/rj45 for the usb printer.
what i want is that all the three laptop should be able to print independently.
in simple words share 1 USB printer with 3 laptops.
but there is one thing that i want that is i dont to keep a host machine,i want each laptop user to print as and when he wish wether other two laptop are on or off. each laptop should print from 1 printer without depending on any other /laptop.
please help me I will be very thank ful for your support.
looking forward to hearing from you.
Best regards.
Follow the instructions for the printer server to set it to a static IP address. If your router uses 192.168.1.100 as a starting point, set the print server at like 150, so it will be out of the way of any other devices. Connect everything, and connect to the wifi with the laptops.
This is how I network printers in windows XP:
Go to the printers folder, and click add new printer on the left side.
Select Local printer, but uncheck Automatically Detect, click next.
Select Create a new port, and select standard TCP/IP port, click Next.
Click next, type in the IP of the print server, click next.
Select generic Network card, click nect, click finish.
Now add your Printer by clicking have disk, and browse to the location of the printer drivers (i.e. the printer cd in the XP folder).
Click Next, until you're done. A test page should print, and that printer should work everytime you connect to your wifi!

Wherefore Art Thou, TiVo?
I did not cut off TiVo because of incompatibility problems, though those do exist. I have eschewed satellite television and IPTV solutions like AT&T U-Verse because they are incompatible with TiVo. I suffered cable service, and I was using cable cards before the cable company installers themselves even knew how to use them. I recently moved to a new apartment, where I had a choice between Time Warner Cable and AT&T U-Verse. After 3 weeks of meditating on the issue, and living without cable TV or wired Internet, I chose U-Verse.
(Disclosure: I work for Samsung in the mobile phones division. We sell stuff on AT&T.)
When my wife and I split, I got the good TiVo. She got the Series 2, I took the TiVo HD. I thought she would live with the non-HD model, but I went to visit one day and sitting above her TV was a shiny new TiVo Premiere. She asked me to help set it up, but I had already returned my cable cards. She needed a professional. Of course the installer showed up without the proper cable cards, and though Time Warner claimed to have scoured the North Texas area, none could be found for half a week.
Fedora 11 and Linksys USB G wifi adapter - LinuxQuestions.org
I reconfigured my WRT54GL router (not running Linux) to use WPA/WPA2. Previously it was only using MAC filtering. I'm using a Linksys USB 54g adapter (v.4.) on my computer, which works fine with no encryption configured. I can't connect with WPA2. This is Fedora 11, using NetworkManager, with all the latest updates. I get prompted for the WPA2 (personal, not enterprise) password, and get this in my messages file: I was using whatever the latest update kernel to fedora11 was on the date I posted. But I had no problems with the GC. I just plugged it in and it worked. It's the large-format external Linksys USB adapter that I can't use. Also, everything is fine except when I try to use WPA. Used to work with my adapter; now it doesn't (or didn't as of a couple of weeks ago.)
