I bought a Mini Cooper in 2006 and has a phone icon on the wheel. No information in the book. Is is for Bluetooth? How can I access it?
The period 2004-2006 MINI Coopers all had neither the plain wheel with no buttons or function with it multi-stereo and cruise control. Even Tho you have the phone buttons there is little on the left side, you do not have Bluetooth. However, there is an implementation of Mini that you can install so that these buttons. It's roughly about $ 800. There is a cheaper version of Bluetooth Mini and it is installed to the left of your stereo power button on the pillar of the money. This unit is just under $ 300 or more. There are some other options of course. You could just get a Bluetooth your head a few games or electronics store to buy a new stereo head unit like Sony, JVC, Aplin, etc.. Companys such that all units have Bluetooth head. Thus, you can listen to your music and the music will fade when you receive a call. I got mine from www.crutchfield.com.

Aug 21, 2008 by Ed | Posted in Add-ons
I plan to buy a Mac Mini to replace my virus infected Dell. I noticed that the Mac Mini comes with Bluetooth; however, I have no idea how it is used in the Mac.
PIECE OF CAKE
just connect your blutooth device (Mic mice or whatever) and mac picks it up,,,if you are not sure it is able or not click on HD >>Application>>then blutooth //if your mac is bit older version Application>>utilities >>Bluetooth and you can see if it is checked to be on or off.

The whole bluetooth/usb/audio system in my 08 is seriously one of my biggest disappointments. It’s too slow and unresponsive. The screen is too small. The control layout is lousy. I was in a co-workers new Hyundai the other day and the stock system with USB in that car was so much better it was embarassing. Any aftermarket setup is better than this retrofit for that kind of money. I really hope they come up with something better in the future.

For those with R50-R53s you can just go and buy a headunit with bluetooth built-in, i bought a Clarion unit 2 years ago and it does everything the retrofit says it does minus remember the last 8 numbers dialed and it was only $150 then and it works perfectly and it makes my stock speakers sound so much better.
